If you have thought Ke$ha was the new bad girl in pop world, forget it!!! Here comes Uffie, an indie version of the Tik Tok singer, accompanied in her lead single ADD SUV by Pharrell Williams. The track is produced by Mirwais, the mind behind Madonna's Music album. Good stuff? Well, too much auto-tune which even prevents Williams from shining.
Her debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans is out now.
Alicia Keys - Unthinkable (I'm ready)
Best track from The Element of Freedom i.m.o. Drake appears on background vocals, and also featuring a verse in the remix version. Both have gained much airplay across The States, giving her another number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Keys advance the release of this single, leaving her collaboration with Beyonce in a second place, to favor Drake at the launch of his debut.
Mary J. Blige ft. Trey Songz - We Got Hood Love
It reminds me Mary’s hit Be with you, besides Trey Songz contribution matches here perfectly. One of the strongest track from her last album, packaged with a good clip.
Prince - Eye Hate U
Prince’s classic ballad from The Gold Experience album. Great vocals and stunning instruments, more words are useless.
Kid Cudi - Up Up & Away
I can't stop playing this song, any time, any day, wherever I am. Much more these days when the summer is flourishing and my body just want to party.
Nicki Minaj - Ur love
After her collaborations with half of the star system: Mariah Carey, Drake, Ludacris, or Usher. Her first solo single finally arrive –Sean Garret featured on Massive Attack- and it’s good.
Aguilera’s career started more than a decade ago under the shadow of the latest 90s pop phenomenon: Miss Britney Spears. Step by step she tried to create a value chain to clearly differentiate herself from everyone out there, but she did not always succeed –became a stripper on the time Spears was getting naked in a sauna was not the finest marketing move-. To dip into the latex and electronics during the reign of Lady Gaga has brought several headaches to our blonde mum. Not myself tonight cannot be categorized as a big hit, hardly a hit, being the first single from a long-awaited album. Its sadomasochistic clip was taken by the audience as a cheap version of Gaga’s mini films. Xtina should have taken into account that in Gaga’s kingdom there is no space for pop memory; their servants believe that their freak queen is the origin and the end of every pop creation: bye bye Madonna, Ace of Base, Cher...
This
bad publicity ruined her comeback effect, but as all we concern, Xtina
is a fighter and won’t give up just because her single did not gain the
expected airplay. If she could sell that swing-jazz attempt called Back to Basics distinguished by her screams and over-sang factor, Bionic
will play a better role for sure. But apart from the newspapers
headlines, Gaga and Xtina have much more in common, both are addicted
to copy. And here, Xtina shines when she sounds everybody but Xtina. Woohoo would be the perfect sequel to Gwen Stefani’s Hollaback girl, and I hate boys would suit Spice Girl’s second album perfectly. However, her triumph is less notorious when she tried to bring back the Voque effect on Glam, no mentioning her Spanish tips on Desnudate. Sandwiched between no glorious tracks stand out Elastic love
and a couple of effective vocal ballads, but not enough for someone who
has been claimed its place since forever. Xtina, we were expecting a Blackout and you just delivered a recycling version of Circus, but less catchy.
Key tracks: Woohoo, Elastic Love, You lost me and My girls
